Chasm Task 5/28 - Prefabbing


Chasm is slowly taking form. The alternate exits out of BLU spawn have been placed and textured. Minor detail has been added.

The next task I am going to start is decompiling official Valve maps and copying specific gameplay elements out of their maps and into prefabs: payload cart, capture points, respawn cabinets, team-specific doors, etc. I'm going to nab recurring motifs out of the TF2 universe as well: lighting fixtures, composited elements (such as a desk that is made out of brushes and models), "Top Secret"/Intercom doors, glass brush/model frame doors, and others.

This will save loads of time, but feels slightly underhanded.

I could spend the next few months trying to emulate Valve's universe, or simply use theirs as prefabricated entities and use the time saved to work out my own custom additions to the TF world.
